Val trained with ITEC in massage in 1996 and aromatherapy in 1997. Advanced training in 1998 with the Shirley Price School of Aromatherapy ensured membership of the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA). Val also qualified in Aromatic Indian Head Massage, Hot Stone Massage and Aromatherapy & Massage for Pregnancy. Val is now a Certified Infant Massage Instructor. She has trained with the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) learning to teach parents how to massage their babies. Her most recent training is with ITEC where she has gained knowledge about Healthy Eating Advice.
Val has been registered as an osteopath with the General Osteopathic Council since 2004. She uses a combination of techniques including cranial, balancing/fascial, soft tissue work and visceral osteopathy together with ultrasound in some cases. Further training has included osteopathic treatment in pregnancy and paediatric cranial osteopathy.
