About the Business
Osteopathy is a primary health care system that focuses on the musculoskeletal system in order to diagnose and treat a wide variety of conditions. Osteopathy is complementary to other forms of medicine and may work alongside these so as the patient is offered the most appropriate form of treatment.
A patient centred approach is taken, considering all possible aspects contributing to the patient's problem. All parts of the body work together as a whole, therefore no one part of the body is considered in isolation. This core principle helps the osteopath to diagnose and treat the cause of a problem rather than the symptoms.
All osteopaths in the UK are regulated by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and undergo training at one of the recognised institutes. Licences are only renewed each year if the osteopath has met the criteria set by the GOsC.
