Your first consultation is similar to that with any medical consultation for example with your own doctor. The Osteopath will take a detailed case history, which will include any previous medical history. An osteopathic examination based upon knowledge of applied anatomy, physiology and pathology leads the practitioner to an appropriate diagnosis. We will then explain what is wrong with you, and how we intend to treat you. Having completed the examination the Osteopath can decide whether your problem can be treated. If it can you will receive an indication of the amount of treatment and the costs involved. If the Osteopath is not able to help you, he may ask you to visit your doctor or suggest other treatments or investigations which may be helpful in solving your problem.
