About the Business
I previously worked under the NHS for a number of years, managing a community podiatry clinic and teaching students. My time in the NHS gave me a wealth of experience in all areas of podiatry. I also worked in a hospital as the staff podiatrist treating consultants, doctors, nurses and ancillary staff. I had always wanted to work in a private practice and was delighted when the opportunity arose to work at the Darwen Osteopathic clinic. My aim is to provide a quality foot-care service where the patient is made to feel welcome.
Your first appointment at the clinic will begin with an assessment. This includes noting your general health, foot health and any medication you may be taking. Podiatry is the universally recognised name for Chiropody. The change of name reflects the advances in the profession and also brings us in line with other countries where the name is well established. Callus, corns, nail disorders, ingrown toenails verrucae, athlete's foot, sports injuries and heel pain.
